COAT ENTANGLED.
MAN HURLED TO DEATH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, Monday. Through his coat becoming entangled in the wheel of a motor jigger on •which he was travelling across a viaduct between Otoko and Rakauroa, a railway surfaceman, John Clement Wintile, aged 35, was dragged off the vehicle and cast to death in a creek 55 feet below.
An inquest was held, at the conclusion of which the coroner returned a verdict that the death was accidental, and that no blame was attachable to anyone.
