RIFLE SHOOTING.

MASTERTON-OPAKI CLUB. Eighteen members of the MastertonOpaki Rifle Club mustered on .Saturday afternoon at the Fairvi'ew Range, to shoot over the long ranges, SOO and 900 yards. A fairly stiff breeze was blowing upon commencing at the 800 yards mound, and consequently the scores were not as high as usual, 47 by K. MeCalmont being the best. L. Knight and R. McPherson were the next best, with 44 each. At 900 yards, the conditions were no better, 46 by D. McCalmont and E. M. Wrigley being the best. Members are requested to bear in mind that they are invited to visit the Alfredton Rifle Club and try conclusions in a friendly match on the Alfredton range on Labour Day, October 27th. Members having cars are requested to advise the secretary as to how many members they can accommodate.
