The tournament should be a most successful one, as entries are coming in freely from all parts of the district, and the course is at present equal to any in the Dominion. On the first day, in conjunction with . the championship and Masterton Handicap, there is a handicap medal eompetion, both in the morning and afternoo’n. On the second day, a bogey handicap in the morning, and a medal in the afternoon. On the third day, a bogey handicap in the morning and a four-ball handicap in the afternoon. , AH games will commence at 9 o ’clock sharp each morning. Post entries will ibe received on the second and third day ’s play. For the first day’s play, entries close with the hon. secretary, Box 14, Masterton, on Wednesday next, the 22nd inst. , - To allow players who are unable to \ attend on Saturday morning, the oppor- ’ tunity of qualifying, the committee has decided that the two qualifying rounds may be played at any time during Saturday. Also,- to cater for junior players, an additional “group handicap” for players with handicaps of 18 and over, has been included in the programme, to commence at 9 a.m. on the

second day, and to play off “match play,” without qualifying rounds, but in the scoring no player will be allowed to take a handicap of more than 24. N.Z. TOURNEY. TO-DAY’S PLAY. CHAMPIONS ELIMINATED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The weather was fine and the course in good order for the third round this inorning of the Ladies’ Dominion Golf Championship. The following are the results: — Mrs Collins beat Mrs G. €. Williams, 2 up. Mrs Spiers beat Miss M. Payton, 2' and 1. Miss Nay beat Miss Chtrystall, 6 and 5. Miss Gaisford beat Miss Laseelles, 6 and 5. Miss Petrie beat Mrs Orbell, 2 up. Mrs Hosking beat Miss Pharazyn, 3 and 2. Miss Loughlan beat Miss Ward, 2 and 1. Miss Barnett beat Mrs Dodgshun, 2 and 1. The defeat of the holder by Miss Barnett, a comparatively young player, was partly due to Mrs Dodgshun not playing some of her second shots as well as usual. She was able, however, to hole her approach at the second and sixteenth holes, but had'bad luck to be stymied at the seventeenth. Miss Barnett outdrove her throughout the game and approached remarkably well.
