ESCAPE FROM GAOL.

PRISONER SENTENCED. (By Telegraph—Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. In the Supreme Court, before His Honour, Mr Justice Adams, Timothy Edward Cosgrove, for escaping from prison, w r as sentenced to two years’ imprisonment with hard labour, to be followed by IS months’ reformative detention. The effect of this will be a sentence of six months, in addition to the term which Cosgrove is now aerving. His Honour said that the crime with which the prisoner was charged was regarded as serious by the Legislature, and rightly so, for many reasons.
