BASKETBALL.
VISIT OF WELLINGTON E. TEAM. The annual visit of the Wellington East Girls’ College to the. Wairarapa High School took place in line weather on Saturday. Two basket-ball matches were played, the visitors winning both, the A match by 10 to 7, and the B match by 21 to 13. As the score indicates, the A game was very keenly contested, the passing, of both teams being good, except in the goal end of the High School team. There the Wellington defence was very sound, the Wilson sisters putting up a splendid game. The best centre on the field was undoubtedly Rita Brown, of the Wairarapa High School team; her speed and accuracy were excellent. Ruth Miller, the Wairaraua captain, saved for her side again and again, and was ably seconded I>v Molly Morton.
The referees were Miss L. Brown and Miss 0. E. Sutherland. The visitors were entertained at morning tea at tlie school, when appropriate speeches were made by Jean Mitchell and Ruth Miller, the respective captains. The Wellington girls returned on Saturday afternoon.
