HEALTH STOCK-TAKING.

INTERESTING PROPOSAL. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day.

Contending that tho need exists for a profound change in the relationship between the medical profession and the public, the Hon. ; A. J. Stallworthy (Minister for Health) outlined, in an interview with a reporter to-day, a scheme for tho inauguration in New Zealand of personal periodical health examinations.

"It will be in the form of an annual health stock-taking,” said the Minister, "and I feel sure will result in incalculable advantages if universally adopted in New Zealand.” Mr Stallworthy said that it was his intention, in connection with the next Christmas seal campaign, to endeavour to obtain the co-operation of the medical profession, life insurance companies, and the public generally in connection with Lis proposals.

The Minister declared that there was nothing chimerical in the scheme. It was but proposing to the average man to contract for services he now bought and paid for from his lawyer, banker, architect and all others, who, with their expert knowledge, helped him to maintain a standard-of efficiency, and avoid disabling complications.
