PERSONAL ITEMS.

Their Excellencies the GovernorGeneral and Lady Bledisloe have returned to Wellington after a stay of six weeks in Auckland, followed by official visits to Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Palmerston North. They wall remain in the capital during the coming session of Parliament. The visitors’ book at Government House is now open.

The Hon. G. W. Forbes (Prime Minister) left for the south last evening .upon' a final visit to his home at Cheviot before the opening of the session next Thursday. He is to return to Wellington on Wednesday morning. Mrs Florence Porter is visiting Masterton, and is the guest of Mrs J. Mac-Rae, Weraiti. The Hon. J. B. Donald (PostmasterGeneral) has gone to Auckland for the week-end.

The Hon. J. G. Cobbe (Minister of Defence) is to spend the week-end at his home in Feilding. The Hon. E. A. Ransom (Minister of Lands) left Wellington for his home near Dannevirke last evening for the week-end.

The friends of Mr A. 0. Jones, of Essex Street, will be pleased to learn that lie is making satisfactory progress after an operation. Mr and Mrs W. G. Lamb were in Wellington to see off, by the Rangitaia, which left for England this morning, their son, Mr Lennox Lamb. The Hon. A. J. Stallworthy (Minister of Health) left Wellington for Auckland last evening. He will return to Wellington on Monday morning. Mr J. K. Hornblow, of Foxton, and formerly of Masterton, has been returned unopposed as chairman of the Palmerston North Hospital Board. Mr R. W. Roydhouse, of Carterton, has been appointed the Wairarapa Automobile Association’s representative on the Wairarapa Progress League. The Rev. G. T. Brown, of Palmerston North and formerly of Knox Church, Masterton, will conduct the services at Knox Church to-morrow. .

Mr F. G. Maunsell, of Masterton, left for England, by the Rangitata from Wellington, this morning. His main object is to see the final cricket test match between England and Australia.

Miss B. Green, daughter of Mr and Mrs H. F. Green, of Lansdowne* who is in charge of the dental clinic at Te Awamutu, has received notice of her transfer to Masterton, and will take up her duties here in a few days. -
