BUILDING SOCIETY.
WORKERS’ MUTUAL BENEFIT. The monthly meeting of tho directors of the Workers’ Mutual Benefit Building Society was held last evening. There wero present: —Messrs B. Krahagen (Chairman), G. Hyde, H. O. Eowles, J. A. Bussell, A. J. H. Briden and A. 11. Eddy. Leave of absence was granted to Messrs T. S. Cresswell, J. C. Ewington and A. W. McKenzie. NO. 1 SOCIETY. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £939 10s Bd. The Chairman was authorised to sign a release of a mortgage, which has been repaid. A certificate of administration was received of a deceased estate. NO. 2 SOCIETY. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £2013 4s Id, with liabilities outstanding loans —of £1231 10s. A shareholder was granted permission to havo his loan placed on fixed deposit for a term of years. Tho directors decided to refund the subscription’s paid on two shares in a deceased estate. Accounts amounting to £2 were passed for payment. It was decided to hold an appropriation by ballot of £4OO (free of interest) and a sale of £4OO on March 20. B. GEOUP. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £352 0s lOd, and that the first appropriation of £BOO had been invested on behalf of the successful shareholder. The chairman announced that the subscriptions ’were coming in freely and at the next meeting of the directors the date would he fixed for holding the first appropriation by sale of £BOO. Routine business -was also transacted at the meeting.
