LADIES’ REST ROOM.
Masterton has a ladies’ rest room in the Municipal Buildings, which is in a central position, but the discussion at the Beautifying Society’s meeting on Monday night relative to a ladies’ rest room in the town suggests that it does not altogether fill the bill. One member suggested that there should be a ladies’ rest room placed an open space in a central position, which the Beautifying Society could undertake to beautify. The idea is quite a good one, provided that a suitable area can be secured, and funds obtained with which to erect the building. Such a rest room would require a caretaker; the' experience of the Masterton Borough Council in regard to therest room in the Municipal Buildings emphasises the need in this respect. The Borough Council may be prepared to secure a site and erect a ladies’ rest room—it is really the duty of the Council t 0 do so—and we are sure that the Beautifying Society would assist in every possible way, even beyond the beautifying of the surroundings.
