NEGLECTED WAIRARAPA.
One of the most important agricultural, pastoral and dairying districts in New Zealand is the Wairarapa, and in the circumstances it is difficult to understand why it was not one of the first to be included in the visit of the Tasmanian farmers. Wairarapa can breed stud sheep and cattle equal to anything to be found in the Dominion, and superior to most districts, while in dairy farming it takes its position among the foremost localities, and is noted for its high-grade butter and cheese. Mr Jordan has made a timely protest against the omission of the Wairarapa from the itinerary of the Tasmanian farmers, and he is to be complimented for taking upon his shoulders the burden of protesting oh behalf of the Wairarapa. One would have thought that the Farmers’ Union would have seen to it, when the visit of the Dominion was arranged, that Wairarapa was included in the,/tour mapped out, and not leave it to a citizen of the town to make the first move.
