MASTERTON ORCHESTRA.

WEDNESDAY’S CONCERT. A most enjoyable concert is promised for Wednesday next, when the Orchestral Society put on their first concert or the season. The committee have engaged two vocal soloists of outstanding merit —Mrs Amy Woodward, one of the finest sopranos in New Zealand today, and Mr F. G. Bourke, whose charming baritone voice is already popular with lovers of good music. The orchestra, consisting of some 30 instrumentalists under their hon. conductor (Mr John Noble) will render several orchestral gems, including Mendelssohn’s Concerto in G Minor, with Miss Hall as the soloist. The popular prices being charged, and the good musical fare offered, should ensure a full house on Wednesday. The box plan is at the Arts and Crafts. Nonplaying members are still being enrolled, and payment of a fee of 10s fid entitles them to two tickets for each of the Society’s three concerts.
