DANGER TO COMMUNITY.
UNION’S POLICY i ——— WATER SIDERS CONDEMNED, i , ;i , ; I . Press Association- Electric Telegraph-Copyrigb (Received Saturday, 9,45 a.m.) - SYDNEY, This Day. • Judge Becby, in giving his judgment upon a claim by waterside workcSr for a new award, declared that the Dnion Officials had fomented strife on the waterfront even more than the men themselves.. The Union’s policy was a danger to the community. Unfortunately, the employers had gradually yielded to the conditions imposed by the men’s federation, and the position on the waterfront had become more difficult.
Judge Beeby refused unconditional, preference, and provided penalties for breaches of the award, which would enable employers to come to the court instead of yielding so frequently to Union pressure.—Australian aud N.Z. Press Assn.
