SERIOUS CHARGE.
AGAINST FIELDEN TAYLOR. CASE ADJOURNED. When flit' name 'of Thomas Ficlden Taylor, the well-known missioner, was calk'd in. Wellington S.M. Court yesterday morning' in connection with a charge of indecently assaulting a male, Mr A. Gray, K.C., who appeared for accused, stated that he regretted to say that his client had met with a serious accident. Dr. Brown had'been called to his residence at 10. JO a.m., and had found him lying on the floor in an unconscious condition, and suffering from a broken thigh. Dr. Brown had liim removed to the hospital, where he would ho confined for a considerable time, possibly three months. Mr Gray asked that under the circumstances the case be adjourned until such time as might seem lit.

Macassey (Crown Prose cut nr; did not oppose the application, but he suggested that the matter might bo adjourned for not longer than a fortnight, after which the condition of accused might be ascertained, and a further application for adjournment made. The Magistrate (Mr E. Page, S.M.) accordingly adjourned the case for a fortnight. CONDITION SERIOUS. The Wellington hospital authorities at midnight last night reported that the condition of the Rev. Fieldcn Taylor, who had been admitted in the morning with a broken thigh, was serious.
