WANGANUI CENTRAL CLUB,

The Wanganui Central Pigeon* Club held their young bird derby on Sunday. The flight was from Blenheim, an air-line distance of 127 miles. The birds were liberated by Mr T. Martin, of Blenheim, at 7 a.m., and as the weather conditions were good, the winning birds homed at 30.40 a.m., putting up the best velocity experienced this season. . Results are as follow:—M. Kirkness’ bird Miss Vassart, velocity of 1034.76 yards per minute, 1: M. Kirkness’ Lone Vassart, 1034, 76 yards per minute, 2; E. J. V. Maxwell's Winsome, 1001.04 yards per minute, 3.
