BRITISH ARMY.
CAVALRY ON WHEELS. LONDON, Thursday. With si view to further mechanisation of the army, the Vnr Office proposes putting a portion of cavalry upon wheels, says the "Daily Telegraph.” Two ideas will be tested on SaUsbury fdaiil mol f‘t Aldershot during the coming spring, Jn one tm.se horses will be stripped of all impedimenta except the man and his ritle, so that they' mill be in the best possible lighting condition when they come in contact with the enemy, while the material will follow on sixwheeled lorries. The other idea is more revolutionary. It is proposed that each cavalry regiment shall be '•composed of two squadrons of horse aWI a squadron of fast whippet tanks, accompanied by a fleet of last lonics carrying machine guns and their crews, which will enable tile cavalry to establish strategical points in force. The experiments Will have an important bearing upon the horse supply for Home and India.
