THE TASMAN FLIGHT.

The Government of the Commonwealth of Australia having- withdrawn its objection to the proposed flight of the New Zealand aviators from Australia to New Zealand, the two pioneers will “hop off” at an early date. Mastcrton is especially interested in the flight, as one of the airmen is Captain George Hood, of this town. The whole Dominion will wish the two daring aviators the best of luck and a successful completion of their journey. If accomplished, the venture will contribute substantially towards placing New Zealand on the map, and the Dominion aviators will have achieved the distinction of opening up the airway between Australia and New Zealand.' The Government intends to run a special train from Wellington to Trentham, so that people in the city may see the aviators land, but it is to be hoped, if it is at all possible to do so, that the Railway Department will give residents of other places similar facilities.
