KILLED IN FIRE.

FATE OF CHILDREN, COLLAPSE OF FLOOR. LONDON, Monday. Four children aged from four to seventeen were killed in a lire near Huddersfield. A cottage occupied by Haigh, a nightwatehman, caught fire, apparently through an accident to an oil stove. The mother awoke, noticed a smell of burning and ran into the bedroom and awoke the eldest girl, Elsie. While the mother was calling the neighbours, Elsie ran back into the cottage to save her brother and histers. Later four charred bodies were found huddled together. They had fallen from an upper room when the floor collapsed. Mrs Haigh was found wandering iii the snow in a distracted condition, clad only in night attire, badly burned and in a state of collapse.
