MASTERTON. Mr R. Brown reports as follows: 31st December:—Barograph 29.85, little movement; shade temperature, max. 71.8, min. 45.2; terr. 45.0; rainfall 28 points; bright sunshine 1 hour 15 minutes. SOLWAY. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that 30 points of rain were registered at Solway for the 24 hours up till 9 o’clock this morning. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that rain was measured on 16 days in November, the maximum fall being 159 points on the 29th, minimum 2 points on the 2nd; total for month 6.40 inches as compared with 3.45 (1926), 1.25 (1925), 3.59 (1924), .43 (1923), 2.69 (1922). The rain measured for November 1927 Avas the highest recorded for the past 24 years, the nearest approach to it being 4.73 in 1921 and 4.80 in 1921. The total rainfall for the 11 months was 41.00 inches as against 35.6 S (1926), 34.23 . (1925), 32.87 (1924), 41.27 (1923), 29.44 (1922). For December rain was measured on 12 days, the maximum fall being 1 inch on the 13th, minimum 1 point on the 3rd; total for month 4.52 inches as compared Avith 4.50 (1926), .73 (1925),' 10.8 S (1924), .98 (1923), 4.27 (1922). The total rain measured for the 12 ' months was 45.52 inches as,. against 40.18 (1926), 34.95 (1925), 43.75 (1924); 1 42.25 (1923), 33.71 (1922).
