STRUCK BY LORRY.
MAORI DIES FROM INJURIES. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) . AUCKLAND, Friday. Injuries sustained through being .-struck IpJbi motor lorry at the corner o£ Customs street and Little Queen Street, this evening caused the death of aged Maori, Wetcrc, of Te Kau- " ; The lorry, driven by Claude Francis Stevens, of Western Springs, Alorn«gside, was turning from Customs R'c-et into Little Queen street. Deccasl»was crossing the road when he was Mocked down by the vehicle, which was promptly brought to a standstill. Deceased succumbed to his injuries .at the Auckland Hospital less than an liour later. The only superficial injury was a compound fracture of the left ;leg, and it- is assumed that shock, accentuated by deceased’s ago, caused his ■death.
