FOE, KEEPING GAMING HOUSE. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Thursday. Robert Evan, aged 58, was lined £IOO a.t Auckland to-day for having kept a .common gaming house in Queen street. The police said that Ryan had done ’well in an extensive bookmaking business over the Christmas holidays. He .bad been lined the maximum on a similar charge in December, Id lib. Asked tvvhy he should not be imprisoned, Ryan said that he had a wife and eight children to support.
