WHAKATAKI FORD.
SHOULD BE BRIDGED. JUST CAUSE FOE, CUMPLAINT. A number of new cottages have been erected this year at Castlepoint. Air V. Donald and Alessrs Fly and Young, Ltd., have just completed two 'houses for this season’s use. Xo doubt this popular seaside resort is growing and good work is being done by settlers and others to make it attractive. It seems rather beginning at the wrong end, however, when access to Castlepoint is not safe, and while the shifty ford to be negotiated at Whakataki is not bridged Castlepoint will V not go ahead as it should until work is undertaken and those who have to cross this stream daily it is a source of continual worry and expense. It only requires concentrated effort on the part of residents and surrounding settlers, backed up by Alasterton residents, when the stream could either be bridged, or an alteration made in the road to obviate crossing the stream. AVo hope to see a practical effort made this summer, which, if carried out, would boom Castlepoint.
