AUSTRALIA AND AMERICA.
EETTER TRADE WANTED. NEW YORK, Thursday. Sir Hugh Denison, whose resignation as Australian* Commissioner to the United States was recently announced, addressing the British Empire Chamber of Commerce, said that he was icturning to Australia to confer with the Prime Minister and Cabinet upon the advancement in the United States of the Australian trade balance. He advocated increased trade representation in each country from the other, and said that he had been unable to do the work as he likes. He said that the Australian Government had not been displeased with his work, but with the results the Australian representatives had been able to achieve in the United States. ? Mr Fred Brown spoke briefly of tin production in Queensland, and said he had hopes that the United States would prove an aid in the production. He staled that Australia was able to provide tin, the need for which was felt greatly in the United States and elsewhere at present.
