TUNNEL HOLD-UP.
ANOTHER CONFERENCE. Another conference will be held today between the contractors and the men employed on the tunnelling operations in connection with the Tawa Flat railway deviation, in a further endeavour to settle their dispute. At a general meeting of the men last night a committee was formed, with power to sign an agreement, should such an agreement be reached, without referring it back to the rank and file of the workers. Mr Xewton, of the Labour Department, will preside at the conference, which, it is hoped, will result in work being recommenced.
