YOUTH AND REVOLVER.
A LEESTON INCIDENT. (ByijfegrapL—Press Association.) CHRISTCHUIICII, Thursday. * Stephen James Morigan, aged 10, -was charged in the Magistrate's Court -to-day with unlawfully presenting a revolver at Jane Marshall, with being in possession of an unregistered revolver, and with carrying a revolver ibeyond his dwelling without a license. The affair occurred at Leeston on December 12th. Morgan called at Marshall’s house, and when Mrs Marshall answered a knock at the door she was :surpriscwl to see a man with his face masked by a handkerchief, presenting revolver at her. The police were summoned. For the accused, it was stated that Morigan went to Marshall’s, by whom .he was previously employed, to try to 'get £lO which ho alleged they still •owed him. The report of the Probation Officer -was that firms had been chasing Mori<jan with reference to motor cycles, .which it appeared had often led young men into trouble. Mol'igaiwwas c-onvietcd and admitted to for two years, a special •condition being that he should not ac•quire or ride a motor cycle during the period. On the minor charges he was lined 20s, and the revolver was confiscated.
