SUNKEN SUBMARINE.
MESSAGE FROM THE DEEP. VANCOUVER, Wednesday. ' A message from Provineetown, Massachusetts, says that faint sounds were hoard at noon on Tuesday from within the sunken submarine S 4. Storms continue to frustrate the work of rescue. HOPE ABANDONED. (Received Thursday, 12.40 p.m.) NEW YORK, Wednesday, News from Provineetown states that when the line attached to the submarine parted during a gale, the wreck was lost. It was announced on Wednesday that hope of rescuing the crew had vanished.
