In the Sheffield Shield match against South Australia, Xew South Wales in the second innings made .150 (Seanes t.’d, Morgan 24, Bradman 33). Bowling: Scott took 2 wickets for 40, and Grimmett 8 for 57. South Australia had six wickets down for 121 (Alexander 49, Grimmett 02) when stumps were drawn. The weather wa? fine and the wicket wearing slightly. Grimmett early took advantage of this, and bowling at the top of his form brought about the collapse of the Xew South Wales team, completely altering the, aspect of the match. The batsmen were very cautious, but Grimmett proved irresistible, demoralising the X'ew South Welshmen after luncheon, taking five wickets for nine runs. Be bowled magnificently tli ronghout. The South Australians opened their second innings carefully, the batsmen taking no risks. Alexander and Grimmett played sound cricket, going only for the loose ones. M.C.C.-TRANSVAAL MATCH. CAPE TOWN, Monday. At Johannesburg, Marylebone, in the second innings against Transvaal, made 360 for nine wickets, declared (Hammond 132, Astill 66).
