MAIL ROBBERY.

FOSTER ACQUITTED. LONDON, Friday. Joseph Foster, who was arrested in New Zealand on a charge of robbing a mailbag of a large sum of money on a railway journey when a resident in England, was found not guilty. The ease, which was heard at the Old Bailey, ended with the jury interrupting counsel’s speech for the defence, saying they had made up their minds, but would like to hear the summing-up of the judge. • Sir Ernest Wild said there was little doubt that Foster eeukl have been there, but tho law insisted that a. crime must be proved.
