On their return to Wellington early next week, the members of the Now Zealand cricket team will be kept together for special matches with teams representing the Best of New Zealand, to be played at Wellington and Christchurch. The arrangements for welcoming the tourists include several functions, and with these over the team will appear in a match at the Basin Reserve, commencing on Friday of m xt week.

The team to oppose the tourists is now in course of selection, and it will include a professional player from each of tin 1 four major provinces, and other players to be chosen by Messrs Brice (Wellington), Patrick (Canterbury) ond Williams (Otago), oho selected the touring team. The professionals will be: —K. 11. Bowiev (Auckland's coach, who was one of the foremost players in England last season). J. Newman (Canterbury's coach, one of the outstanding all-round-ers in England), L. C. Eastman (Otago's coach, who is a leading Essex County player), and I'. T. Badcoek (Wellington's coach, who was selected in tin' team for England, but was 1111aide to make the trip).
