(Special to “Daily Times.”) The monthly meeting of the Wairarnpn South County Council ay ns held ou Saturday, at Carterton. _ The treasurer reported receipts for the month, £2433 ISs 9d; hank balance, general account, credit, £2210 14s Sd; loan account, cr., £5644 10s 3d. The chairman was authorised to make arrangements with the Main Highways Board regarding the dedication of land for Nix’s-Woodlands road, but not to agree to any arrangement that exceeds a £ for £ basis. The overseer was given authority to put Para road, Moreton road and Rayner’s road in order from metal crushed in Para pit. Crs. Court, Hodder and Benall were appointed a committee to go into the matter of dedication of Hodder’s road. Cr. He id reported having been informed that the riyer was likely to cause damage at the Harrington water race headword, and the committee AV ere authorised to inspect same, YVitn power to act. The overseer reported as follows: Belvedere Riding.—A dram, intakes and outlets, on Haringa road, have ■■been cleaned. The combs are being cut and water tables cleaned on Tea Creek road, and patch metalling has been carried out on Maungatarere A alley road. A start with the metalling contract on Hurunui road has been made by the contractors, Messrs 1 infold and Pairbrother. Parkvale Riding.—Patch metalling ha-3 been done on Cornwall road and Kokotau road, and metal has been raked in on Cornwall road, as well as Hughes’, Nix’s and Ivokotau roads. . A start has been made with the crushing of metal and the metalling of Rayner’s road. It, was suggested that while the crusher is in the vicinity of Tara road, that portion of Para road m the Parkvale Riding be also metalled. Dale field Riding—Water tables have been cleaned, and a little patch metalling and raking-in of metal on Waihakeke road has been done. Metal has been raked in on Moffatu’s and a 1 way roads, and a little patch metalling done on W-atcrson’s road. It was suggested that the Dalelield Riding por■tion of Para road be metalled whilst the crusher is at the Para pitMaungaraki Riding. —Metalling has been done, water tables cleaned, some of the bends widened, and metal raked in on Longbush road. On both Ponatahi -and Miller’s roads metal has been raked in. Watertables have been cleaned and general maintenance work carried out on the Admiral road. Metal has been raked in on Driscoll road, and water-tables and general maintenance work done on Craigic Lea road. On Plat Point,r-oad, general maintenance work-has been carried out and points taken off. General.—All the metalling work lias been completed on the Kaiwhata load. Points are being taken off and watertables have been cleaned on the Past Coast road. Metal has been raked in on the Carterton-Gladstone road. The drain has been cleaned out on Park road, and patch metalling ha 3 been done on Belvedere and Dalefield roads. Metal has been raked in, water-tables cleaned, and some filling done on the Oarterton-Gladstone road. It was suggested that Belvedere road be metalled from C-ob-den road to Eagle’s corner.
