SALVATION ARMY.
COMMISSIONER HAY’S VISIT. Commissioner James Hay, 0.8. L., is visiting Masterton next week-end in connection with the first anniversary of the opening of the Whatman Home. Saturday' afternoon will be given to celebrations at the Home, commencing at 2 p.m. Carterton will be visited on Sunday, at 11 a.m., while at 2.45 the prizes in connection with the Home will be presented by the Commissioner at the schoolroom. 'Commissioner Hay will direct the evening service in the Army- Hall, Hall street, and friends and sympathisers' are advised to hear the Commissioner in his address during that service. The Commissioner is one of the Army’s leading speakers. There will lie a number of staff officers supporting the visitors. As this is tin' first occasion Commissioner Hay lias visited the local Hall, a large crowd is expected, and extra seating arranged in the Hail. Commissioner Hay- and Mrs Hay re•coiitlv succeeded Commissioner and Mrs Hoggnrd, in charge of the Salvation Army' throughout the Dominion.
