FOOTBALL.
LEAGUE,PQDE. WELSH CLUB’S GOING OVER (Received Saturday, 8.56 a.m.) LONDON, Friday. Welsh Rugby Union clubs are likely td turn professional and form a Welsh. League, affiliated with the northern pinion. This w;ill be inaugurated in the. autumn according to- the “Daily ■News,” although the naiilcs have not yet been disclosed. The. N.Z. League team's International match against Wales, to-morrow is expected to greatly assist the Northern Unions propaganda for the development of the League. The New Zealanders have shown such remarkable improvement since “peace” was proclaimed in their camp, that they have an excellent chance of winning. The Rugby League’s “hush! hush!” policy regarding the vieivs expressed in official Australian and New Zealand letters concerning the two year’s qualification rule, is distinctly regrettable. What ever the Dominions think-' the League clubs here will press for the removal of the ban. Wiga.n has already called a general meeting of the clubs to consider the matter.—Sun.
