A meeting of the Stewards’’ Committee of the Masterton Racing Club was held last night, Mr C. F. Vallanee presiding. The Department of Internal Affairs wrote stating that the Club’s application for a refund of 1:1 per cent, on the totalisator proceeds at the spring meeting was receiving attention. The treasurer reported that the club’s debit balance had been reduced to £167. Accounts to be met amounted to £146, but as an offset to this a rebate, of £230 was expected in a few days. The Ground Committee reported that apart from wet: weather, excellent progress was being made with the course improvements. It was decided to call tenders for the grazing riglits of the racecourse for twelve months.
