IMPORTANT RESULT. (Received Friday, 12.5 p.m.) OTTAWA, Thursday. The result of the Ontario election brings a great portion of the area and population of Canada under the Government sale of liquor .from stores. Prohibition still reigns only in the .•small maritime provinces' of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. Out of a House of 112, eighty of those elected will support the Government'control of liquor. These are composed of 'seventy-five- .straight-out Conservative followers of the Premier (Mr G. 11. Ferguson) aud five wet independents. The Opposition consists of, Liberals and Progressives. ' Of the thirty who entered the battle as straight-out prohibition candidates, not one was elected. Mr Raney, a Liberal, and the “dry” leader, was elected by a narrow majority, while Mr W. F. Xickle, K.C., a former AttorneyGeneral, who deserted Mr Ferguson over the latter's liquor proposals, was badly beaten. The election resulted in 75 Conservatives and 35 of other parties being returned. L*r© !•*'_
