STOCK MARKET.
PAHIATUA CATTLE FAIR. Dalgety and Co., Ltd., Alasterton, report on the Pahiatua cattle sale as follows: A good yarding of cattle'was submitted to a large attendance. The condition of the bulk of the entry was not up to tho usual standard and in consequence competition for the older cattle was dull, but the demand for young steers was keen with prices on a par with recent sales. The following is. the range of prices at which a good clearance was effected: 4-year forward bullocks, £8 15/; 3-year steers, £G to £7; 2-year steers, £5, £4 IS/, £4 '.l/ to £4 12/; 3-year steers, £3 15/ to £3 16/; forward cows, £3 13/ to £5 5/; cull steers, 27/ to £3 1/.
