EMPIRE HERITAGE.

SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF LONDON, November 29. The Right Hon. J. G. Coates and the Hon. Mr S. M. Bruce were presented with the Freedom of Stoke-on-Trent. Mr.. Coates, in replying to the address, said the heart of every citizen in New Zealand would beat a little faster for the honour they had done him to-day as New Zealand’s representative. Ho hoped the children’s attendance would impress them with proud heritage of the Empire which everyone must build up and make stronger. New Zealand would never forget the terrific burden Pome by Britain during the years of war. “If ever the need arises again,” said the Premier, 1 New Zealand will be with you to a man.”—(A. and N.Z.).
