SHEFFIELD SHIELD. QUEENSLAND v. X.S.W. BRISBANE, Tuesday. In their second innings'in the Sheffield Shield match Queensland, when stumps were drawn to-day, had lost eight wickets fot- 378 (O’Connor 191 not out, R. Oxenham 62). Tho weather wa.4 fine and the wicket good. The visitors’ bowling was not troublesome, but their alert fielding saved many runs. O’Connor scored fast at first, but for a time after luncheon the scoring slowed down. Then O’Connor collared the bowling again. He never seemed troubled, and Queensland’s total mounted rapidly, the century being reached in 125 minutes. O’Connor played a dashing innings, and lifted Queensland from lighting an uphill battle to a winning position. Scores: — NEW SOUTH WALES. First innings ..
