BUTTER MARKET.
BETTER PRICES. LONDON, Friday. There has been a remarkaple improvement in the butter trade in the last three days, following a better industrial outlook and reports of dry weather in New South Wales and Queensland, which are likely to reduce shipments. A good demand has sprung up in London and the provinces, and there are also some sales for America and the Continent, where there is a shortage. One broker says that he sold more butter on Tuesday, Wednesday and today than in the previous four months. It is reported that the new season’s New Zealand butter has beo n practically cleared at 14Ss to 150 s. The control price has been raised from 15’Gs to 15Ss. Danish is firm at 170 s.
Australian choicest (salted), 146 s to 14Ss ;exceptional, 150 s; unsalted, 160 s to 1625.
Cheese is firm, and New Zealand is bringing S4s to Sss.
