THEFT OF BENZINE.
MAORIS PLEAD GUILTY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) W IIAKATAN E, Tuesday. Four young half-castes, Robert, Philip and. John -Collier and Hira Ku-wi-ti, were charged at the Whakatane S.M. Court with stealing benzine at Edgecombe and ißotoma. With the stolen benzine they went to Rotorua and back on a joy ride. All pleaded guilty. Philip and Jc#in Collier were each fined £lO and costs, while Robert Collier and Kawiti were remanded to appear before a Magistrate next week. -Both the latter were fined-a fortnight ago for the theft of benzine from farmers’'""cream stands. They were given time to pay the fine.
