WEARING OF FEZ.
TURKISH PROHIBITION. LEADS TO BLOODSHED. CONSTANTINOPLE, Thursday. Public feeling against the Bill forbidding Turks to wear the fez is growing in intensity. Violent encounters have caused loss of life in several Turkish. towns. The Government was forced to send a. warship to Rizeh, on the Black Sea, and fire, was opened on the rioters, of whom 20 were killed. At Erzruni, in Armenia, the populace' lynched several State officials because they were wearing hats. Troops intervened, and many women were killed in the subsequent fighting. —Reuter.
