The Hon. A. D. McLeod (Minister of Lands) is expected to return from the south on Sunday. Lieutenant-Colonel B. Hughes has been appointed Honorary Colonel of the Wellington-West Coast Regiment. Dr. Cyril Norwood, master of Marlborough College, and at one time Admiralty Clerk has been appointed headmaster of Harrow, in succession to the Rev. Lionel Ford, Dean designate of York. Mr A. Balfour Dawson (formerly of To Ore Ore) 'has been appointed an inspector in the Lands and Survey Department at Te Kniti. He has recently been engaged as a mercantile marine officer in the Far East. The death occurred at Danncvirke on Wednesday of Airs J. AlcPhcrson, mother of Air James AlcPhcrson, of Mastertoil.
