GLENEAGLES TOURNEY. LONDON, Saturday. At Gleneagles in the 1000 guineas professional golf tournament final (36 holes), A. Compston, North Manchester, beat Abe Mitchell by one hole. Mitchell led 69 to 75 on the first round. Comstock made a .sensational recovery in the ■second, when, in a great burst, he won seven holes out of eight. FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP. PARIS, Saturday. The French amateur golf championship was ivon by Vagliand, who beat Gobert 6 and 4.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
