Parents willingly paid large fees to have their children taught the tricks of the trade. Mousset imparted a most systematic training. His own home was burgled every week by pupils practising.
The police, suspecting 'the school, burst in, and found Alousset 'teaching a class by diagrams on a blackboard. Everything looked innocent, and the police were on the point of departing when one of them removed the teacher’s spectacles and recognised Alousset.
