PLUNKET SOCIETY.
MASTERTON BRANCH. The monthly meeting of the executive of the Masterton branch of the Plunket Society was held yesterday, there being present:—Mesdames W. Bullock (in the chair), W. H. Jackson, H. H. Dawson, G. J. Goldsman, F. W. Martin, A. C. Me.Diarmid, H. E. Davis, H. M. Peacock, R. Judd, E. H. Waddington, T. F. Watson, R. C. Drummond, A. Donald and T Jordan (secretary). Apologies were received from Mesdames O. N. C. Pragnell, L. B. Maun9ell, H. 11. Daniell, J. M. Coradine, G. 11. Seholefield and D. McKay. Mrs Bullock welcomed the new members.
The resignation of Mrs H. E. Pither from the committee was received with regret. Mrs J. F. Maunsell, forwarding a cheque for £l3, expressed her appreciation of the Society’s work in the Dominion and abroad.
The Trust Lands Trust advised that £.IOO had been put on the estimates for this year’s grant to the Society. The Central Council (Dunedin) forwarded a suggestion that the Society have the power to raise money by debentures or on mortgage.—Referred to the advisory board and solicitor for an opinion.
Mrs Massey acknowledged message of sympathy.
It was decided that the executive committee be the only committee for this year. Accounts totalling £ll 118 s 4d were passed. The nurse (Nurse G. Kummer) reported:—Visits to homes, new cases 17, old cases 139; visits to office, adults 207, babies 100.
It was decided to make the Plunket room available as a rest room for mothers from the country on Wednesdays. Members of the Plunket committee will attend to look after children while the mothers go shopping or attending to other duties, and the mothers, also, may rest there. This system will begin on Wednesday, July Ist, and the room may be used from 10.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The treasurer (Mrs H. H.
