OPERA HOUSE. A GOOD STORY TO-NIGHT. Showing for one night only at the Opera House is an excellent Paramount programme headed by the attraction, “Half-a-Dollar Bill.” it not only has a cast of such prominent players as Anna Q. Nilsson, William T. Carleton, George MacQuarric and Alec B. Francis, but it introduced a new juvenile actor in four-year-old Frankie Darro who gives an exceptional performance as the young boy who is nicknamed “Ilalf-a-Dollar Bill,” because as a baby he is found abandoned with a torn dollar bill pinned to him. It is announced that William Ileughan, the great Scottish dramatic basso eantante, who recently created such a furore amongst music-lovers in the Town Hall, Wellington, will appear in this city at an early date. In this artist we have one who lias scored success upon success throughout the principal cities of the world. The Sydney Bulletin write’s: —“William Hcughan finished up his recitals in the Town Hall in a blaze of glory.” The Wellington critics have been most eulogistic in his praise, and are unanimous in the opinion that he is the greatest singer who lias visited New Zealand for many years.
