W.F.C.A. SALES. The Wairarapa Farmers’ Stock Department report on their recent sales as under:— ’ At Eketahuna on Thursday we offer- ' ed at large yarding of sheep, which met ■ with keen competition throughout the , sale, and a total clearance was effect- | ed at increased values on late sales. We give below particulars of some of | the prices realised. Sheep: 'S.M. ewes 1 275, m.a. ewes 24s 4d, two-tooth wethers 34s 2d, wether lambs 245, 23s 2d, 20s down to 15s, ewe lambs 20s, 355, b.f. lambs 255, 24s 7d, 23s 7d, down to 19s 4d, m.s. lambs 18s 10s. Cattle: Heifers £3 down to 35s and 30s; weaner pigs 10s 6d, 7s and 6s. At Carterton, on Friday, we offered a small yarding of cattle and pigs. Competition was dull throughout, the majority of the cattle being passed. Some of tlici prices realised were: Four fat cows £3 13s, heifers £2 10s and 355, cows £2 ss, £1 10s down 255. Bigs: Porkers Porkers 13s, slips 10s, 8s Gd, Bs, 7s 6d. The N.Z. 'Farmers’ Dist. Co., report: —We held our weekly sale in the Colombo road yards on Wednesday, when we offered a good yarding of sheep to a good attendance of buyers. The whole yarding, was disposed of at the following prices: Two-tooth wethers 34s 4d, forward ewes 24s to 265, aged ewes 15s to 3 7s, small b.f. lambs 14s to 375, springing heifers £5 5s to £7, weaner pigs 10s. Yesterday at Carterton, we had a good yarding of sheep and cattle, which sold readily at the following prices: M.A. ewes in lamb to Downs 29s 6d, forward store* ewes 22s 6d to 23s 6d, aged do. 34s to 365, medium b.f. lambs 17s to 18s, small do 13s 6d to 355, store cows £2 to £3, fat do. £5, 38month steers and heifers £2 15s, weaner pigs 10s, light porkers 2-Bs. CARTERTON SALE. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: We offered a small yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs to n fair attendance. All lines sold at a par with recent rates. Prices: Fat cows £5 10s, store cows £2 to £2 15s, weaner heifers 31s, porkers 26s- Gd, slips 14s to 18s, weaner pigs 8s to 10s. FEILDING SALE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) FEILDING, Friday. There was a large yarding of sheep, but competition, except for two or three pens, was very slack. Prices were easier all round and a good proportion were passed. Some exceptionally good fat, heavy skinned two-tooth wethers made 495, and a line of 400 fat and forward Romney two-tooth wethers made 38s. Fat lambs 24s 6d to 36s 6d, fat wethers 32s 9d, 38s Gd to 495, ewes 25s 6d to 325, Line, good skinned 2-tooth ewes r.w. Romney rams (passed) 38s, medium ewes r.w. S.i). rams 28s 9d to 30s, fair Romney ewe lambs 27s 8d to 28s, small do. (good condition) 22s Id, god shorn w. lambs 255, very fair woolly do 25s 3d, medium shorn w.f. lambs 19s 6d to 20s 9d, good b.f. do 255, medium do. ISs 7d to 2Js 3d, small 12s Gd. A medium yarding of cattle. Competition was very poor. Prices for both fat and store were easier than previous rates, a large proportion being passed in. Good fat bullocks sold at £8 !|Ts Gd to £9, medium £7 3s to £8 17s, good fat cows £5 5s to £5 14s, mixed coloured forward bullocks £7 355. .
