BOUND FOR ENGLAND.
IN A SMALL SLOOP. A DARING UNDERTAKING. (Received Saturday, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA, Friday. Commander Eustace Maude, R.N., aged 77, who commenced a voyage to England in a 25-ft. sloop on May Ist, arrived at Victoria, British Columbia, en route to the open sea, with Panama his next port of call. He will not sight land until he reaches the canal. He has provisions for one hundred days. He expects to make the Canal in 60 days. He has 50 gallons of water and tlie same quantity of gasoline on board. The vessel has a five-liorse-power engine.—Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
