Donald and A. Rippon. Apologies w cue received from Messrs lb Ca-selberg and \V. 11. Jackson. The treasurer reported: —No. 1 account, dr., £lO9 P's 4*l; No. 2 account, ( -r. £334 17s; rents for the month, £->2l ss’ld. Accounts totalling £602 7s lid were passed. F. Waite asked as to the rent required for a lease for 21 years of sections in Queen street, opposite the Central Sl rhe’chairman said the Trust -should stipulate that a suitable building be placed on the (sections. Mr Coradinc said he did not wish to deprive the Trust of getting revenue, but it was the only land at present in Master to ii which. could "be devoted to educational purposes. There was a chance of something developing for an educational institution in this town, and he moved that the Trust postpone consideration for a month. If there was no amalgamation of the Technical and the High .Schools there was no other site on which the Technical School could be properly developed on present lines. This could not be done oil the present site. There was no site better situated for the purpose than that under discussion. In a month or six six weeks the question of amalgamation of the two secondary schools would be settled. The idea now, he believed, was the amalgamation only of the boards.

Mr Hughes seconded the motion, which, was carried. The Trust solicitor advised that it would be necessary to have a. special meeting to pass a motion dedicating a portion of a section in Park Avenue for street widening. —Decided to call a special meeting 15 minutes before the next monthly meeting. An application for a special grant for books was referred to the education committee.

A deputation from the Mnsterton Beautifying Society, comprising Messrs W. Kemp, A. IV. Reynolds and J. Allan, waited on the Trust asking for a grant of £IOO towards the proposed rose garden in the Masterton Bark. Mr Kemp outlined the scheme, and said it would cost about £2.00. The Society -had only about £l-50. The rose garden would be a -great asset to the town and of educational value. The Borough Council had given assistance, and was installing the water. Mr Coradinc differed from a statement by Mr Kemp that the Borough Council should- not give the money. The Council now had the power to get revenue from the Bark. He thought- the Council should give an equal -amount to the Trust.

Mr Kemp said that the Council had spent a lot on the fernery. The chairman said that the Trust estimates would be framed shortly, and the matter could be discussed then. Ilis opinion was -that the Borough Council surely should be able to do this work with the Beautifying Society. The Memorial Bark was more worthy of the Trust’s assistance. Mr Coradinc moved that a Borough Council grant be subsidised .£ for £ up to £2OO. The motion had no seconder, and Mr Bippon moved that the matter be held over until the estimates were framed, the Society again to approach the Trust. Mr Wagg seconded this motion, which was carried.
