COAL MINE STRIKE.
MANY MINERS IDLE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) G REYMOUTH, This Day. About 2.10 State miners were idle to-dav in accordance with the Onion’s resolution against working until the termination of three sectional co-oper-ative contracts. About 2,0 miners, half the number in the contracts, worked, while 00 of the co-operator's did not work in accordance with the 1 nion decision. Jt is understood that the Miners’ Council of the West Coast is behind the State Miners’ Union in their stand. The Engine Drivers’ Union will hold a meeting on Saturday, when their attitude will be considered.
