PLUNKET SOCIETY.

MASTERTON BRANCH. The first meeting of the year, Reid at the Plunket rooms- yesterday afternoon, was attended by Mesdames Bullock, J. Caselberg, D. Donald, Pragnell, Drummond, Scholefield, Judd. J, C. Hooper, Goldsm'an, Daniell and Jordan. Apologies were received from Mesdames W. McKenzie, Warded, Coradine, Pit her, J. W. Buchanan and L. B. Maunsell. It was decided to ’insure Nurse Kummer against sickness as well as accident. A letter was received from Mr. G. R. Sykes, M.P., stating that he had interviewed the Under-Secretary for Internal Affairs, but found there was noprovision in the regulations for the exemption of Plunket Society cars from registration under the Motor Vehicles Act. Mr Svkeis had urged upon the Minister the desirability of exempting; the cars of the Plunket Society ancl St. John's Ambulance Brigade. The A. and P. Association wrote thanking the Society for donation of £lO towards the building at Solway. An additional £2 was received towards the Plunket Day sale. The nurse’s reports showed: —December. 22 new adult cases, 17 babies; January, 19 adults, 18 babies. Owing tothe* epidemic, the Plunket rooms are closed.
