The Irish deportees ’ compensation tribunal in London awarded £20,342 in respect to forty-three claims, wherein a settlement was reached.

MURDERER HANGED.
(Received Saturday, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, Thursday.
William Downer, an ex-National soldier, was hanged at Mount Joy for the murder of a detective during an armed robbery in Dublin. —Aus. and N.Z. Cable Assn.
